When a young power couple visited the NOLI showroom – a partnership was quickly born. He, a luxury residential builder, and she, a successful entrepreneur, were building their own home in a high-end neighborhood north of Yellow Springs.
The couple sought out NOLI after their attempt to fabricate European-style modern cabinets themselves had gone wrong. They decided to call in the experts (us). We’re so glad they did! The decision to work together was made easily. The duo was already aware of the quality and value of custom cabinetry and modern kitchen design.
The homeowners’ new minimalistic one-of-a-kind home and kitchen features a dramatic black lacquer finish of the eye-catching backsplash and waterfall countertop. The waterfall effect was created using mitered joints for a smooth continuous look. This stunning design is complemented by custom cabinetry with a seamless beveled channel grip. The custom integration of the Wolf cooktop controls within the cabinet is another unique feature.
The overall result is a thoughtfully integrated, flush design known as GIZA. This concept comes from our exclusive fabricator MAISTRI and its artistic director Alberto Minotti, of the famed minotticucine that we also proudly represent at NOLI. GIZA is the essential choice for the minimalist eye – the front, top, and sides are characterized by 45° beveled edges coming together. The purest form of GIZA is out of a single material – such as a natural or sintered stone – as can be admired in our showroom. Precision and uninterrupted beauty guide this design.
This bellissima cucina features a pass-through corner pantry. This is one of our favorite designs and is a perfect complement to GIZA. You don’t even know the pantry is there when the door is closed! The wall design is uninterrupted and continuous – the epitome of modern design. Behind the secret door is a perfectly organized pantry with built-in shelving and drawers.
With a kitchen this stunning, entertaining is obligatory. The double oven and double fridge make hosting that much easier. We envy the guests who get invited to this party 🙂. The extra space also allows for meal planning or simply stocking up on fresh ingredients and cooking a special dinner for two with multiple courses.
The ample wine storage is another aspect of this kitchen that calls out for parties and romantic dinners. The wall space design is something you might otherwise see in a gourmet restaurant, and the wine cooler is perfect for storing wines year-round.
The final hidden gem of this kitchen is a coffee center behind pocket doors. The coffee bar is perfect for the morning and then out of sight, out of mind when not in use. This attention to detail when planning the space is a key strategy for capturing truly minimalistic design.
What’s not to love about this kitchen – it’s truly a monolithic masterpiece. Magnifico! We loved collaborating with the homeowners to make this special space a reality and are so glad they called on NOLI to help create the kitchen of their dreams.
